Year 3
• Ancient Egypt- food, clothes, entertainment, homes, Pharaohs, Gods.
• Hooray for Bollywood- Where is India? Look at past/present.
• A Better Bearwood- Improving the local environment.
• Dinosaurs- When were they around? Different types.
Year 4
• World War II- Create a WW2 timeline, building an Anderson shelter, recreate WW2 recipes.
• Electricity- Who discovered electricity?
• Chocolate- History of the Aztecs.
• Going Wild- finding countries on different maps at a varying scale, Research the culture of an African country.
• Co-ordinates- linked to geocaching, quadrant sampling, drawing plans and maps of the playground from a bird’s eye view.
Year 5
• The Dig- Romans- history of why they came to England, what was life like in Roman times? Produce history document about Roman artefacts.
• Africa- Where is Uganda in geographical terms? How far does food travel?
• The Dig- Bury a time capsule, creation of a history trail followed by geocaching.
Year 6
• The Vile Victorians- lifestyle, food, clothes, entertainment, Queen Victoria.
• Who lives in a house like this?- climate, weather in different countries, how houses are adapted.
• Martin Luther King- black history.
